FAQ for FTRX-10
Q: What is FTRX-10?
Answer: FTRX-10 is a type of panadapter that lets you probe the RX scope line of Yaesu FTdx10 without any loss, and analyze a wide range of spectral window for SDR applications.
Q: Is installation of FTRX-10 reversible? Do I need to use a solder station?
Answer: Installation of FTRX-10 is totally reversible which means that you can uninstall the unit at any time without modifying your Yaesu FTdx10. Shortly, you do not need any equipment other than a screw driver.
Q: How can I buy it?
Answer: Simply by clicking the BUY button above.
Q: Where is it going to be shipped?
Answer: The United States, The United Kingdom (ML&S).
Q: How does FTRX-10 work?
Answer: FTRX-10 utilizes a wide bandwidth, highly linear, and high input impedance amplifier to probe the RX scope line of Yaesu FTdx10. High impedance probing is crucial to acquire the RX scope signal from Yaesu FTdx10 without any attenuation.
Q: There are already some panadapters. What makes FTRX-10 special so I would use with my radio?
Answer: Existing panadapter solutions requires soldering along with long tapping cables. This voids the warranty of the radio. Also tapping with relatively longer cable introduces extra attenuation and distortion. Aside for these features, FTRX-10 uses highly linear, high bandwidth current feed-back Op-Amp topology to maintain highest SNR. Any other existing solutions use FET transistors, and tend to introduce additional distortion due to the non-linear behavior of the transistors.
Q: How can I make sure FTRX-10 works as intended?
Answer: We are using frequency sweep method to simulate the Yaesu FTdx10 RX scope signal. Our sweep characteristics ranges from 30kHz to 120MHz @980mVpp as a sinusoidal signal.
Q: Am I going to see any signal during TX?
Answer: No. FTRX-10 only taps the RX scope line of the radio.
Q: Is there any warranty for the product?
Answer: Yes, we provide one year limited warranty. The customer is responsible for shipping costs.
